Jason Newcomb | Co-Founder
Jason Newcomb is a 20-year veteran of the Massachusetts National Guard with three overseas deployments. His military experience gives him a personal connection to Övervaka Vänner’s mission and a strong commitment to supporting those who have served. An experienced dog trainer with a background in scent detection and hunting dogs, Jason brings practical working-dog knowledge to the organization.
Jason also manages website and merchandise design and handles the organization’s demonstration dogs during public outings, often with his personal demo dog, Lex, by his side. When he isn’t working with dogs or spreading the word about Övervaka Vänner, he enjoys riding motorcycles with Chelsea and attending community events. If you spot them around town or at an event, stop over and say hi—they welcome a conversation, a few laughs, and a chance to introduce you to the dogs.
Chelsea Newcomb | Co-Founder
Chelsea Newcomb brings her passion for dogs and dedication to helping others to Övervaka Vänner. As co-owner of Freedom Labradors, she plays a central role in raising and training confident, well-tempered dogs, building the foundation they need to become dependable working partners. She focuses on each dog’s individual strengths and developing a lasting bond between dog and handler.
Her commitment continues beyond placement, supporting Övervaka Vänner’s mission to provide service dogs for veterans and first responders, along with comfort dogs for departments and schools, at no cost and with lifetime support. Outside of working with the dogs, Chelsea enjoys riding motorcycles with Jason and connecting with people at community events. If you see her out and about, don’t be afraid to say hello—she’s always happy to talk dogs and share the mission!
