OVERWATCH FRIENDS—OUR NAME, OUR PROMISE.

Övervaka Vänner loosely translates to “Overwatch Friends”—a name that reflects our commitment to watching over those who have watched over others.

That commitment grew from the work behind Freedom Labradors, which was created to raise and train confident, dependable dogs with the temperament and skills to become trusted companions and working partners. Övervaka Vänner carries that purpose forward by covering the cost of service dogs for veterans and first responders, so financial barriers don’t stand between them and the support they need. Our recipients receive their dogs and handler training at no cost.

Each service dog is trained around their handler’s individual needs, with tasks such as retrieving essential items, assisting with mobility, interrupting anxiety, and providing grounding. Our programs also reach beyond individual placements, providing comfort dogs to departments and schools at no cost to help support first responders, students, and the communities they serve.

What sets our approach apart is the relationship we build with every team. Our commitment doesn’t end when a dog goes home. We provide lifetime support, ongoing guidance, and a team they can turn to as their needs change. For us, a successful placement means a lasting partnership—and a promise to keep showing up.
